Summary:The invention relates to a method for determining a relaxation start point after a burn-in process. A trigger image region having at least one image pixel is set to a pixel value such that a parameter determined based on the at least one pixel value across the trigger image region differs between the burn-in image and the relaxed image. A local distribution of gray scale values is continuously recorded by means of a camera. A trigger sub-field comprising at least one sensor pixel is defined to match the trigger image region. A trigger parameter is continuously determined from a pixel value of at least one sensor pixel in the trigger sub-field at a trigger clock rate, and a relaxation start point is determined as a point in time at which the continuously determined trigger parameter crosses a trigger threshold.
