Summary:The invention provides a carbon quantum dot which is prepared from the following raw materials: citric acid, urea, a phosphorus-containing compound and N, N-dimethylformamide. The mass ratio of the citric acid to the urea to the phosphorus-containing compound is (1-3):(0.5-1.5):(1.6-5), and the mass volume ratio of the citric acid to the N,N-dimethylformamide is (1-3):(5-15) g/ml. The invention also provides a tumor targeting nanoprobe which is formed by covalent linkage of folic acid and the carbon quantum dots. The carbon quantum dot is long in emission wavelength, good in living imaging performance, high in quantum yield, high in penetrability, high in safety, large in cell intake and high in stability. The preparation method of the carbon quantum dot is simple, the carbon quantum dot can be successfully coupled with folic acid, the coupled carbon quantum dot has stronger specific uptake in tumor cells, and in-vivo targeted tumor imaging can be realized; therefore, the material is an excellent tumor probe
