Under the normal pressure condition, an oxidizing agent and a chlorine-containing salt are added into an acid system to conduct oxidizing leaching on the gallium nitride waste firstly, gallium is dissolved and enters a leaching solution, nitrogen is oxidized into environment-friendly N2 and enters a gas phase, and effective separation of the two elements of gallium and nitrogen is achieved; and then the gallium-containing leachate is neutralized to precipitate out gallium in the form of Ga(OH)3, and further calcining is performed to obtain the gallium oxide (beta-Ga2O3) product.
