The method comprises the following steps of calculating and weighing pure aluminum ingots, alkali metal halide, cryolite and yttrium fluoride according to the components of the aluminum-yttrium-rare earth intermediate alloy; heating and melting a pure aluminum ingot, mixing molten salt according to a ratio, adding the molten salt into molten aluminum, and carrying out heat preservation reduction for 30-120 minutes in a temperature range of 950-1100 DEG C; and after the reduction reaction is completed, carrying out casting and cooling, and obtaining the aluminum-yttrium-rare earth intermediate alloy.
