Summary:The invention discloses application of a cotton GhGOLS2 gene in control of cotton seed germination, the application of the cotton GhGOLS2 gene in the control of the cotton seed germination, and the application of the cotton GhGOLS2 gene as a positive control of a Si-VIGS silencing system. Two infection solutions carrying a TRV-GhGOLS2 carrier are used for carrying out dip-dyeing on the cotton seeds respectively, results prove that the two infection solutions can effectively silence the cotton GhGOLS2 genes and reduce the germination rate of the cotton seeds, and the silencing effect of a virus homogenate infection solution is better than the silencing effect of an agrobacterium infection solution so as to prove the application of the cotton GhGOLS2 gene in the control of the cotton seed germination. The invention proves that the GhGOLS2 gene can be used for the early-stage gene silencing research of the Si-VIGS seed germination, and researchers can conveniently use a Si-VIGS method to research gene functions.
