The invention relates to the field of functional finishing of textiles, and discloses a method for dyeing a cotton fabric with a reactive dye. The method comprises the following steps of (1) completely immersing the cotton fabric in a BTCA-sodium hypophosphite mixed solution, stirring for 10-15 minutes, removing the excess solution by rolling, controlling the liquid entrainment rate of the cotton fabric to be 96-105% by weight, drying the cotton fabric, curing the cotton fabric at 140-160 DEG C for 4-12 minutes, and washing and drying the cotton fabric in sequence to obtain an anion modified cotton fabric with the substitution degree of 0.4-0.5, wherein the proportion of the cotton fabric and the BTCA-sodium hypophosphite mixed solution is 3-5 g/100mL; and (2) putting the modified cotton fabric obtained in the step (1) into reactive dye liquor with the pH value of 6-8 for dyeing, and then sequentially performing washing, soaping and drying.
