The invention relates to the technical field of printing, and particularly discloses printing ink and a preparation method thereof. The printing ink comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 10-20 parts of acrylic resin, 5-10 parts of polyurethane resin, 5-10 parts of shellac, 8-18 parts of pigment, 4-10 parts of filler, 5-10 parts of soybean oil, 10-20 parts of castor oil, 1-3 parts of a stabilizer and 1-2 parts of a defoaming agent. The preparation method of the printing ink comprises the steps of uniformly mixing the acrylic resin, the polyurethane resin, the shellac, the pigment and the filler to obtain a first mixture; uniformly mixing soybean oil, castor oil and a stabilizer to obtain a second mixture; and uniformly mixing the first mixture, the second mixture and a defoaming agent to obtain printing ink.
