The method comprises the following steps: mixing the lithium iron phosphate waste with water to prepare slurry, adding alkali to adjust the pH value to be alkaline, heating to react, filtering and separating to obtain filter residues; dissolving the filter residue in acid, filtering and separating, taking filtrate, adding a solution containing oxalate, reacting, aging, filtering and separating to obtain a filter cake and a precipitation mother solution; and pulping, washing and removing free water from the filter cake to obtain ferrous oxalate.
