A battery is provided with: a battery can comprising a cylindrical part having an opening edge at one end, and a bottom part that closes the other end of the cylindrical part; an electrode body housed in the cylindrical part; and a sealing body that seals an opening formed at the opening edge. The sealing body comprises a terminal part, and a gasket interposed between the terminal part and the opening edge while being compressed. The opening edge comprises at least a base part extending in the axial direction of the cylindrical part, and a tongue piece part protruding from the base part.
