Summary: | The invention provides a positive electrode material and a preparation method and application thereof. The chemical formula of the positive electrode material is LixMnyO2, x/y is greater than or equal to 0.9 and less than or equal to 1.6, x is greater than 0, and y is greater than 0. The preparation method comprises the following steps of (1) mixing a fused salt, a manganese salt and a first lithium salt, and carrying out primary sintering to obtain a base material, and (2) mixing the base material obtained in the step (1) with a second lithium salt, and carrying out secondary sintering to obtain the positive electrode material. In the step (2), the molar ratio of all the lithium elements to all the manganese elements is 0.9-1.6.
