Summary: | A system includes an anti-splay system is disclosed. The anti-splay system includes a receiver having a base, opposing arms, and opposing locking channels. The arm forms a rod receiving cavity, and the arm includes a formed internal thread. The locking channel is formed in an inner surface of the arm. The system also includes a fixation screw having a drive portion, an external thread extending from a body portion, and a distal locking member rotatably connected to the body portion. The distal locking member and the locking channel are configured such that, in operation of the system, the locking member can slide into a fixed position in the locking channel when the set screw is screwed into the receiver. When in the fixed position, the distal locking member fixes the two arms to avoid splaying.
