Summary: | The invention belongs to the technical field of superconductors, and particularly relates to a metal-based superconducting strip and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method of the metal-based superconducting strip comprises the following steps that (1) a film is formed on the surface of a metal-based strip by adopting a pulse laser deposition method, specifically, in the pulse laser deposition method, a Fe<(1-x)> SeTe<(1-y)> target material or a Fe<(1 + x)>SeTe<(1-y)> target material is adopted, 0<=x<=0.1, and 0.1<=y<=0.9; and (2) a protective layer is deposited on the surface of the film by using a magnetron sputtering method. According to the method, the iron-based superconducting strip can be rapidly and continuously prepared, and the prepared superconducting strip has good C-axis orientation, smooth surface, high superconducting transition temperature and high critical current density.
