An actuator (14), which has one piston (24) and presses a brake pad (12) against a disc rotor (10) by means of the piston, is configured to include an operation conversion mechanism (28) that converts the rotational operation of each of two electric motors (22) into the advancing and retreating operation of the piston. Since the inertia force can be reduced by reducing the size of the electric motor, an electric brake device having excellent responsiveness can be constructed.
