A seat module for a motor vehicle that includes a carrier element 1 having at least one seat row 2 upon which at least two seats are secured. Each seat row has walls defining an opening 3 which is accessible from outside of the motor vehicle and which extends laterally as a hollow space 4 into the carrier element.
