Summary:The invention discloses a front-end node optimization selection method for constructing a sensing system, which comprises the following steps of: establishing an edge available bandwidth constraint relationship, an edge available storage constraint relationship, a system coverage constraint relationship and a system total utility function; and when the edge available bandwidth constraint relation, the edge available storage constraint relation and the system coverage constraint relation are met and the numerical value of the total utility function of the system is the maximum, using a set of front-end nodes as an optimal cooperative node set; and taking the front-end node in the optimal cooperative node set as a system front-end node. According to the method, under the condition that the available bandwidth and the available storage resources of the edge nodes are limited, the existing massive front-end nodes are utilized to reconstruct a video monitoring system capable of realizing large-range area coverage
