The invention relates to a roller tappet (1) for a fuel pump, comprising a guide housing (2) which consists of an input portion and an output portion (3, 4) of the same outside diameter. A separate support member (5) extends longitudinally through the guide housing (2) and carries near its upper end face (7) adjacent the input portion (3) a pin (21) fitted with a roller (9), and, near its lower end face (10) adjacent the output portion (4), cooperates at least indirectly with a seating (11) for a pump piston. The portions (3, 4) are separate, axially distanced rings joined by the support member (5). The input portion (3) does not carry the pin (21) fitted with the roller (9). The support member (5) has a first ring part (12) having the upper end face (7) and a second ring part (13) having the lower end face (10), the first ring part (12) being joined to an interior lateral surface (14) of the input portion (3) and the second ring part (13) being joined to an interior lateral surface (15) of the output portion
