The invention provides a control system and method for an autonomous vehicle. The control system comprises: a reservation platform used for obtaining a starting position and a terminal position reserved by a user; an automatic driving system which communicates with the reservation platform, controls the automatic driving vehicle to run and stops when the automatic driving vehicle runs to the starting point position and the final point position respectively; a sensing system which is used for collecting surrounding environment information of the automatic driving vehicle and a speed monitoring system which is used for monitoring vehicle speed information of the automatic driving vehicle; and a vehicle door control system which is communicated with the automatic driving system, the sensing system and the speed monitoring system and is used for acquiring current surrounding environment information and vehicle speed information when the automatic driving vehicle arrives at the starting point position or the final
