The invention discloses a polyimide paper-based material for a wave-transparent honeycomb and a preparation method of the polyimide paper-based material. The preparation method comprises the following steps: pretreating polyimide chopped fibers, and drying for later use; defibering and dispersing the treated polyimide chopped fibers and meta-aramid chopped fibers; mixing the defibered and dispersed mixed pulp with separately dispersed meta-aramid fibrids for papermaking; and obtaining the polyimide paper base material for the wave-transparent honeycomb by adopting a wet forming process, squeezing, drying to obtain polyimide paper base paper, softening, hot-pressing and finishing. By utilizing high strength, high modulus, excellent high-temperature resistance, flame retardance, low dielectric constant and dielectric loss performance of the polyimide fibers, the temperature resistance and flame retardance of the traditional aramid paper-based material are improved, and the dielectric constant and dielectric los
