Summary: | The invention belongs to the technical field of effective recovery of metal germanium and preparation of biomass derivative adsorbing materials, and particularly relates to a propylene glycol modified chitosan adsorbent as well as a preparation method and application thereof in germanium adsorption. According to the technical scheme, the preparation method comprises the steps of firstly, properly soaking a proper amount of chitosan with hydroxyethyl methacrylate, K2S2O8 and Na2S2O3 in water, and carrying out free radical polymerization reaction; and carrying out reflux reaction on the intermediate product polymer and 3-chloro-1,2 propylene glycol for 24 hours, and introducing an ortho-diol functional group into a chitosan molecule as a Ge(IV) adsorption site on the introduced hydroxyl to obtain the propylene glycol modified chitosan HEMA-IDOI-CS.
