The invention provides an operational amplifier and a signal amplification method. The operational amplifier comprises a single-stage amplifier and a current controller. A single stage amplifier is arranged to receive an input signal and amplify the input signal to generate an output signal, where the single stage amplifier includes a voltage controlled current source circuit operating in responseto a bias voltage input. The current controller is coupled to the voltage-controlled current source circuit, receives an input signal, and generates a bias voltage input according to the input signal.
