Abstract | The invention discloses a method for preparing N-isopropylacrylamide based on 3-halogen-N-isopropylpropionamide. The method comprises the following steps of: (1) mixing the 3-halogen-N-isopropylpropionamide with a metal salt of alcohol in a molar ratio of 1-1:3; (2) placing the mixed substance in the step (1) in a vacuum heating environment to react under a vacuum degree ranging from -0.01 to -0.099MPa and a heating temperature of 90DEG C-100DEG C; (3) after the reaction in the step (2) is finished, adding an extraction agent for extraction treatment; (4) filtering and distilling the substanceextracted in the step (3); and (5) adding a recrystallization solvent into the substance treated in the step (4), and carrying out recrystallization treatment to obtain the N-isopropylacrylamide.
