Summary: | The embodiments herein provide a system and a method for synthesizing graphene-supported photocatalytic nanomaterials for air purification. The method includes synthesizing a ceramic substrate from aceramic material in particulate form; depositing carbon material on the synthesized ceramic substrate; depositing one photocatalytic nanomaterial on the carbonaceous material coated ceramic substrate;transforming the phase of the ceramic substrate coated with carbonaceous photocatalytic nanomaterial in inert atmospheric condition from one phase to another phase; and activating the transformed ceramic substrate coated with carbonaceous photocatalytic nanomaterial, when exposed to photo energy source.
