The invention discloses a light heat insulation ceramic tile and a preparation method thereof. The light heat insulation ceramic tile is prepared from, by weight, 30-50 parts of red mud, 5-20 parts ofyellow mud, 20-40 parts of sand, 10-20 parts of weathered mud cake, 10-25 parts of fine mud cake and 0-10 parts of sawdust powder. The fine mud cake comprises powder waste residues of granite and powder waste residues of quartzite.
