The invention relates to a debondable adhesives and uses thereof. Debondable adhesive compositions are provided comprising a polymeric adhesive matrix, and a carboxylic acid or a salt thereof like glucaric acid, tartaric acid or other diprotic carboxylic acid dispersed within the polymeric adhesive matrix; wherein the carboxylic acid or a salt thereof is present in an amount from about 1 % to about 15% by weight based upon a total weight of the adhesive. The disclosure also provides articles of footwear and components for articles of footwear including a debondable adhesive matrix. The debondable adhesive matrix can allow for the bonding and debonding of twosubstrates in the article of footwear or component thereof.
