The invention relates to a carbon fiber/nanometer silicon dioxide compound as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The compound is prepared through the following steps: soaking cottonfibers in a mixed solution of tetraethyl orthosilicate and water, and carrying out a hydrothermal reaction at 180-200 DEG C to obtain a compound of the cotton fibers and nanometer SiO2; and carryingout annealing treatment on the cotton fiber/nanometer SiO2 compound. The invention also provides the preparation method of the carbon fiber/nanometer silicon dioxide compound. The preparation method comprises the following steps: 1) soaking the cotton fibers in the mixed solution of tetraethyl orthosilicate and water, and carrying out the hydrothermal reaction at 180-200 DEG C to obtain the compound of the cotton fibers and nanometer SiO2; and 2) carrying out annealing treatment on the cotton fiber/nanometer SiO2 compound.
