The invention discloses an MR positioning method and device based on a position fingerprint database. The MR positioning method comprises the steps of: screening out a fingerprint record matched withMR fingerprint information from a preprocessed position fingerprint database according to a main cell identifier, an adjacent cell identifier and a main cell level value in the MR fingerprint information; for each adjacent cell corresponding to the MR fingerprint information, calculating a main and adjacent level difference value, and screening at least two candidate main and adjacent fingerprintrecords from the matched fingerprint records; adding the candidate main and adjacent fingerprint records into a candidate main and adjacent fingerprint set; and counting the occurrence frequency of the candidate main and adjacent fingerprint records, and screening a target fingerprint record according to a statistical result to determine user position information corresponding to the MR fingerprint information.
