The invention provides a Gustavus gene and application thereof, dsRNA synthesized from the Gustavus gene and a preparation method and application of the dsRNA. The DNA sequence of the Gustavus gene isshown as SEQ ID NO.1, and the nucleotide sequence of the dsRNA is shown as SEQ ID NO.3. The preparation method of the dsRNA comprises the following steps of synthesizing a Gustavus gene segment by taking a DNA sequence of the Gustavus gene as a template; designing a primer pair containing a T7 promoter sequence by taking the Gustavus gene segment as a template; carrying out PCR amplification to obtain a dsRNA synthesis template; and carrying out in vitro synthesis of dsRNA. The Gustavus gene is a forward regulatory factor related to insect propagation.
