Thepreparation method of the water-borne epoxy resin comprises the following steps: adding vegetable oil fatty acid, epoxy resin and a catalyst into a reaction bottle, introducing nitrogen, heating, melting materials, stirring, heating to 220 to 230 DEG C until the acid value is 5 to 10mgKOH/g, then cooling to 130-150 DEG C, adding a cosolvent and a functional hydrophilic monomer, reacting for 3-5 hours, and cooling after the acid value is 40-60mgKOH/g, thereby obtaining the water-borne epoxy resin.
