Summary: | The present application relates to nanostructured formulations for the delivery of silibinin and other active ingredients for the treatment of ocular diseases. Formulations comprising silybin or otheractive ingredient incorporated into SLN and NLC type lipid nanoparticle systems, and calixarene-based (possibly mucoadhesive) incorporated or incorporated into micelles and nanoparticle systems in the form of amphiphilic inulin copolymers are described, which are useful in the treatment of neurodegenerative eye diseases. Also described are multifunctionalities of calixarene compounds that are capable of loading and releasing active ingredients to be used in the treatment of ocular diseases, characterized by low water solubility, ease of chemical and enzymatic degradation, low bioavailability,regardless of whether they are natural sources.
