The invention provides a large-size aragonite whisker prepared by carbonizing an impurity-containing calcareous raw material and a preparation method thereof. The method comprises the following steps:calcining marble particles at a high temperature to obtain quick lime and crude CO2 gas; adding water into the quick lime and carrying out digesting to obtain crude lime milk; removing impurities from the crude lime milk to obtain refined lime milk, adding a proper amount of a crystal form control agent, removing impurities from the crude CO2 gas, intermittently introducing the crude CO2 gas intothe refined lime milk, and conducting circulating multiple times to obtain turbid liquid; and filtering the turbid liquid, and washing, drying and scattering a material to obtain the aragonite whisker with a middle-portion diameter of 3-10 [mu]m and a whisker length of 60-90 [mu]m.
