Summary:A power supply system for an electric motor car according to an embodiment has a first terminal, a second terminal, and a conversion unit. The first terminal is electrically connected to an electricity-storage device provided in a train of electric motor cars or to an overhead contact line. The second terminal is electrically connected to a train line to which a plurality of electric motors and aself-power supply device in the train and an external power supply device are also electrically connected.
