The invention discloses purple poly-glycolide-co-lactide (PGLA) fiber, a preparation method and application thereof as well as a surgical suture, and belongs to the technical field of chemical synthesis. According compositions of the PGLA fiber, in polymerization monomer substances of glycolide and L-lactide, the molar ratio of glycolide to L-lactide is 90:10; the addition amount of stannous octoate is 0.01%-0.02% of the total mass of the monomer substances; the addition amount of lauryl alcohol is 0.01%-0.02% of the total mass of the monomer substances; the addition amount of Violet 2 is 0.5%-1% of the total mass of the monomer substances; and the addition amount of calcium stearate is 0.5%-1% of the total mass of the monomer substances.
