Summary:The invention discloses a method for treating a molybdenum-containing substance. The treatment method comprises the following steps: reacting a molybdenum-containing substance with nitrogen trifluoride at a temperature of 460-1000 DEG C to obtain MoF6, wherein the molybdenum-containing substance is (1) a molybdenum-containing compound; (2) elemental molybdenum and a molybdenum-containing compound;or (3) a substance A and a substance B. The substance A is elemental molybdenum and/or a molybdenum-containing compound; and the substance B is a nuclear fission product and/or molten salt. By meansof the treatment method, the reaction rate of molybdenum-containing substance can reach 90%-100%, and the recovery rate can reach 93%-97%.
