An air compressor comprises a motor, a sleeve, a connecting rod, a piston, a valve plate, an air filter, a cover, a crankcase, an air storage tank, a plug, a cylinder head, an air tank end cap, a motor end cap, a fan, a fan cover and a safety valve. The crankcase has a hole. One end of the hole communicates with a hole of the cylinder head while the other end of the hole communicates with a recessof the crankcase. The air storage tank comprises a hollowed part, an inner wall, an outer wall, a plurality of connecting walls and a plurality of air storage openings. The hollowed part serves to accommodate a motor housing. The plug is attached to a threaded hole of the outer wall. The air tank end cap is provided with a plurality of recesses. The air storage opening is communicated with the recess of the crankcase and the recess of the air tank end cap. A plurality of spaces are provided between the air tank end cap and the motor end cap.
