Summary:The invention provides preparation and application of a rare earth cerium-doped iron molybdate photocatalyst. The preparation comprises the following steps: dissolving Fe(NO3)-9H2O in deionized water, and adding Ce(NO3)3 at room temperature to obtain a mixed solution of Fe(NO3)-9H2O and Ce(NO3)3; dissolving (NH4)6Mo7O24-4H2O into deionized water and dropwise adding the (NH4)6Mo7O24-4H2O into a mixed solution of Fe(NO3)-9H2O and Ce(NO3)3, stirring, adding ammonia water to adjust the pH value to 3-4, reacting at 180-185 DEG C for 12-13 hours, centrifugally washing, and drying to obtain the rareearth cerium-doped iron molybdate photocatalyst Ce-Fe2(MoO4) 3. The cerium-doped iron molybdate prepared by the invention is of a uniform nano spherical structure and has a relatively large specific surface area; meanwhile, through doping of rare earth elements, the photo-induced electron-hole recombination rate of the photocatalyst can be effectively reduced, the specific surface area of the photocatalyst can be increased
