The invention provides a vegetation growth matrix based on engineering muck as well as a preparation method and application of the vegetation growth matrix. The vegetation growth matrix comprises mainmaterials and auxiliary materials, wherein the main materials include the engineering muck and greening soil, the auxiliary materials include humic acid, biological compound bacteria and a water retaining agent, and the engineering muck accounts for 50-70wt% of the main materials. The vegetation growth matrix makes full use of the engineering muck produced during construction, can reduce the useamount of the greening soil and recycle the engineering muck while realizing good growth of vegetation as well, and has good economic, social and ecological benefits. 本发明提供一种基于工程渣土的植生基质及其制备方法和应用，所述植生基质包括主体材料和辅助材料，所述主体材料包括工程渣土和绿化土，所述辅助材料包括腐殖酸、生物复合菌和保水剂，所述工程渣土占所述主体材料的50～70wt％。本发明提供的植生基质充分利用了建设过程中产生的工程渣土，在同样实现植被良好生长的基础上，有利于减少绿化土的使用量，并实现工程渣土资源化利用，起到了良好的经济、社会和生态效益。
