The method comprises the steps of obtaining a to-be-processed folder; traversing theto-be-processed folder to take out each to-be-compressed picture in sequence; if the size of the to-be-compressed picture is smaller than or equal to a preset threshold value, storing the to-be-compressed picture into a preset target folder; and if the size of the to-be-compressed picture is greater than the preset threshold, compressing the to-be-compressed picture by adopting a Huffman compression algorithm until the size of the to-be-compressed picture is less than or equal to the preset threshold, and storing the compressed to-be-compressed picture into the target folder.
