Summary: | The present invention provides a control device for a hybrid vehicle capable of avoiding an excessive decrease in engine speed and deterioration of vibration caused by rapid deceleration in a direct connection mode. The sudden deceleration operation is detected when the direct connection mode is set (step S1). If the sudden deceleration operation is detected, the control is executed to release theone of the first engagement mechanism and the second engagement mechanism that are engaged in the direct connection mode, the torque shared by the engagement mechanism due to the inertia torque becomes smaller (step S3-S6), the direct connection mode is switched to one of the high mode and the low mode, and the inertia torque is the inertia torque of the motor that is generated with the rapid deceleration operation.
