The simple open-pit mine side slope governing and greening method comprises the following steps: S1, stacking cultivation soil on each side slope platform by utilizing existing platforms of an open-pit mine, and allowing the stacked cultivation soil to inclines outwards; S2, sowing grass seeds onto the cultivation soil, synchronously planting seedlings of climbing plants at intervals less than or equal to 1.5 m, and controlling growth directions of the climbing plants in maintenance period so as to arrangethe climbing plants climbing upwards and the climbing plants climbing downwards in a mutually spaced way; S3, laying straw or other dead branches and withered grasses on the cultivation soil; S4, arranging a temporary retaining wall on each of the side slope platform close to an edge; and S5, removing the temporary retaining wall when the greening reaches standard.
