Summary: | The invention discloses a method for screening salt-tolerant cotton varieties and relates to the technical field of cotton variety screening. The method includes setting multiple contrast dimensions to perform screening on the salt tolerance of cotton varieties; performing screening on seeds with the actual highest salt concentration of soil; utilizing multiple salt concentrations to perform lethal concentration determination on the bud stages of cotton so as to further weed out 80% of the varieties with low salt tolerance; and planting the rest 20% of the varieties in normal saline-alkali soil, and comparing the character indexes of the leaves and rhizomes at the second leaf stage. Primary screening can be performed at a germination period; secondary screening can be performed at the budstage; final screening can be performed at a seedling stage; and therefore, comprehensive screening can be performed by combining the different salt tolerance of the cotton at the bud stage and the seedling stage.
