The invention provides a vehicle, a gear shifting mechanism and a gear shifting control strategy for automatic driving. The gear shifting mechanism has the advantages that the structure is simple, thecost is low, and the automatic driving requirement can be met. The gear shifting mechanism comprises a rotary knob and a rotating piece fixedly connected with the rotary knob, wherein the rotating piece is connected with a toothed plate; the gear shifting mechanism further comprises an elastic piece, wherein the rotating piece is provided with a track surface which is axially connected with the elastic piece in an abutted mode, the track surface comprises a first rail and a second rail which extend in the circumferential direction and are connected, the first rail and the second rail are provided with at least two-stage steps which are recessed step by step towards each other, and an intersection point between the first rail and the second rail forms an initial point connected with the elastic piece in an abutted
