The invention discloses a method for high-stability determination of ammonia content in cigarette mainstream smoke by ion chromatography. The method comprises the following steps: S1, capturing totalparticulate matters and gaseous ammonia in cigarette mainstream smoke; S2, extracting the total particulate matters by using an extracting agent prepared from a tobacco shred raw material to obtain anextracting solution, capturing gaseous ammonia by using diluted hydrochloric acid to obtain a capturing solution, mixing the extracting solution and the capturing solution in an isopyknic manner, performing diluting to a constant volume, and then filtering the mixed solution; and S3, carrying out ion chromatography analysis on the filtrate to obtain an ion chromatogram in a cigarette sample, determining the nature according to the retention time, quantifying and deducting the ammonia content in the extracting agent by using an external standard method to obtain the ammonia content in the mainstream smoke of the cigare
