Summary: | The invention provides a method of recovering titanium and iron from ferrotitanium middlings. The method comprises the following steps of passing the ferrotitanium middlings through a reduction shaftfurnace to make iron; then separating iron and titanium dioxide from a melting component in an electric furnace, wherein titanium dioxide in-slag floats on an upper liquid level of molten iron; and then removing the slag to obtain a high titanium material, the TiO2 content of which is 70-75wt% and high purity molten iron, the iron content of which reaches 98wt%. It is verified by experiments thatthe TFe content in the high titanium material obtained by the method is 4-6wt% and the TiO2 content of artificial rutile extracted and separated from the high titanium material is 90-95wt%, so that titanium and iron in the ferrotitanium middlings are efficiently recovered, separately.
