Summary:The invention relates to a thread splicing device (10) for a workstation (2) of a textile machine for producing cross-wound bobbins. The device is used for connecting two yarn ends to a splicing prism(23) in a knotless mode. The splicing prisms (23) are provided with splicing channels (19); the splicing channel (19) can be acted upon in a pneumatic manner and has a thread insertion slot (38) which remains open during the splicing process and is equipped with at least one splicing air nozzle (30) which opens into the splicing channel (19) obliquely from above. According to the invention, the wall portion (35) of the splicing channel (19) opposite the splicing air nozzle (30) is designed such that it forms a swirl profile (36) which prevents splicing air blown into the splicing channel (19)via the splicing air nozzle (30) from exiting the splicing channel (19) immediately again via the thread insertion slot (38).
