Summary:The invention discloses a device and method for detecting a spectral broadening state of a phase modulated laser. The device comprises an optical filter, a high-speed photodetector, a high-pass filter, and a power detector which are sequentially connected with each other; an input end of the optical filter is externally connected with the phase modulated laser, and an output end of the optical filter is connected with the high-speed photodetector; an electric signal output end of the high-speed photodetector is connected with the high-pass filter; and an output end of the high-pass filter is connected with the power detector. The method comprises the processes of time-domain modulation, high-pass filtering, and power detection. The device is low in cost, simple and compact in structure andeasy to ingrate.
