Summary: | The invention relates to a thermal selection technology for low-grade hydromagnesite. The thermal selection technology comprises the steps that (1), the low-grade hydromagnesite with the particle sizeof -2 mm as a raw material is calcined at the temperature of 850-950 DEG C, and heat preservation is conducted for 160-200 minutes, so that the hydromagnesite is basically decomposed; (2), the product obtained after the hydromagnesite is calcined is put into a 60-mesh or 65-mesh screen, wet screening is conducted with water-free liquid fuel as a medium, and a valuable mineral is separated from amineral containing impurities to remove the impurities of SiO2, CaO, Al2O3 and Fe2O3, and the purity of hydromagnesite light-calcined magnesia is improved, wherein the valuable mineral and the mineralcontaining the impurities are obtained after calcination, there are differences between the particle size of the valuable mineral and the particle size of the mineral containing the impurities.
