A septal closure device can include an expandable frame having a central portion defining a lumen. The frame can have a plurality of arms extending radially outward from the central portion. The armscan be connected to the central portion at angularly spaced locations on the central portion that intersect a common plane perpendicular to a central axis of the lumen.
