Summary: | The invention discloses a method for improving stability of a strip coal pillar and relates to the technical field of coal mining. The method comprises the steps that firstly, according to geologicalconditions of a coal bed, the width of a first strip working face haulageway and the width of a way expansion area are designed, then when the haulageway is driven for a certain distance, way expansion reinforcement is conducted along the side of the strip coal pillar. The roof of the way expansion area is supported in metal net laying and anchor rod drilling modes, then anchor rod drilling is conducted in the direction perpendicular to the strip coal pillar to achieve supporting, afterwards a separation wall is built on the other side of the way expansion area, and after separation, gangue paste is poured to the way expansion area.
