The invention provides a method for promoting potato germination by overexpressing a potato StDWF1 gene. The method includes the following steps: (1) preparing a material for overexpressing potato StDWF1 by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation; (2) identifying the material overexpressing potato StDWF1; (3) subjecting the material overexpressing potato StDWF1 to tissue culture; and (4) cultivatingthe material obtained in the step (3) for 15 days, then transplanting the material to a greenhouse for cultivation, and finally determining the germination time of the tubers.
