The invention discloses a hot-melt sizing agent for cotton fiber sizing. The hot-melt sizing agent comprises, by mass, 30-48% of behenic acid or arachidic acid or hexadecanoic acid, 10-20% of EVA, 5-15% of EAA, 17% of paraffin, 8-11% of rosin, 7% of copovidone, 4-6% of stearic acid and 1% of an antioxidant according to the total mass percentage of 100%. The hot-melt sizing agent has the high desizing rate, high abrasive resistance, high strength and low hairiness index. A preparing method of the hot-melt sizing agent includes the steps of firstly, weighing and mixing all the raw materials according to the mass ratio stipulated in the formula; secondly, adding the evenly-mixed raw materials into a container to be heated and stirred for a certain period of time, and stopping heating and stirring when the raw materials are completely molten into a thick sizing agent; thirdly, naturally cooling the sizing agent to obtain the required hot-melt sizing agent.
